💥LOW BACK PAIN - HOW TO STRETCH💥 ⠀
❓ In today's video I'm going to walk you through how to stretch a large muscle that attaches from the bottom of the posterior ribs down to the pelvis.
📊 We're talking about the Quadratus Lumborum (QL). The QL a major link between the pelvis and the ribs. Commonly people can have some feeling of tightness/stiffness in the low back with the QL sometimes being the culprit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌐 There's a myriad of things that can contribute to low back stiffness/tightness, ranging from loss of hip range of motion, asymmetric load distribution with sitting/standing, restrictions in the thoracic spine, sleeping position, or even asymmetric sports (think golf) If you try this and one side feels like it's more difficult to move than the other, work on it and see if it helps with your low back.
🍩 Test out the stretch I demonstrate in the video. Start with the passive stretch for assessment or for baseline, and then work toward the active reach of the arm and the hip.
